Pin Hwa Lok Lok, Pulau Tikus

i love eating lok lok
don't ask me why though i know its tasteless unless it goes with the sauces
but i just enjoy it especially with friends or family where you keep on eating non-stop not realizing the stick is piling up
as a klangnite i remember the only place i enjoy having lok lok is the stall behind the old kok tai (cathay) cinema
and since i had the one here last year, i swear to come back again
and so I did, but same food same environment with different accompany
make me less excited
however, the choices are still great and the lok lok is still YUMMY

how often you got broccoli for lok lok right
they have it right here and of course cuttlefish with kangkung

if you would ask me would i prefer satay celup at Melaka or lok lok
i'll definitely choose here
i'm not a big fan of satay celup, its too heaty and it makes everything so soggy losing all the original taste

fresh prawn mantis (hei ko) for lok lok??
YES YES

baby octopus, snails (i don't mean those siput we see on rock k), cockles, jellyfish, fishball, meatball, clams
and another thing i favor is FRIED FUCUK
i don't know why this few months, i love to eat FUCUk so much but since i come Penang, i barely had it..aiks

of course the price is according to the stick that is color coded
the uncle calculating it is awesome
FAST and ACCURATE
i try to imitate him the other day too
no worries, its definitely affordable and worth the money

ya ya quail eggs...purposely snap this to remind me about one my coursemate which adore quail egg so much everytime we go for buffet steamboat..haha

they have also other stalls selling some other food doing brisk business
wantan mee right in front of the lok lok stall
the wantan mee tasted not bad

my first shrimp paste chee cheong fun
it tasted a bit funny to me at first
i don't really heart it but compare to the one at New Lane
i prefer the New Lane one..this one don't taste and smell that good

kuey teow kuey teow!!!i love kuey teow
old town kuey teow will be good for me dy..
this one of course not bad
generous with fish ball and chicken meat
the broth also don't cause me to thirst after that
usually i'm worried about the chinese restaurant syndrome but luckily not this time
if it is less oily, it will be better for me....

i miss the drink i had last time..dunno which stall....aiks aiks...

next time i want to go again when i'm feeling excited enough with the correct people..haha

till then

Feringghi Garden

to find a beautiful place to dine in near my place
this is definitely the correct spot
beautifully decorated and friendly staffs

the interior of the restaurant

the bar

this is the day i need some booz
but unlucky me, both of the company that day wasn't interested..sianess

caesar salad (RM 16.80)

erm this is not my favourite..the dressing was not creamy enough and no anchovies, it just lack of caesar dressing taste...and the salad leaves seems wilted when we started eating..i would preferred my egg to be poached rather than hard boiled...and of course more grated Parmesan cheese...

LemonMint Frost (RM 9.80)

ok, when it arrive on the table..our reaction was like..urgh..ehwww...
but after a sip, eh not bad wor..it really tasted like lime mint frost
but its pretty obvious that it is made from cordial right

Spaghetti Olio (RM20.80)

slightly too dry, more olive oil would taste better, and everything tasted pretty bland..
she got to add black pepper and more salt..haha..
luckily the pasta is al dente..

Prawn cutlet (RM25.80)

if i'm not mistaken its suppose to be jumbo prawn
but this jumbo prawn seems to be a little too small
nothing much to shout about..

Lobster Linguine (RM35.80)
its more of like the spicy version of olio..i'm still finding for my favorite olio till now..the one i love last time, their quality has also drop..sigh...this is really spicy but i still enjoy it..at least its flavorful..and mini lobster was fresh..haha..

the 'mini' creme brulee...nice or not?? not nice...sugar was not nicely burnt..
brulee was not smooth..over sweet..thumbs down..

chocolate walnut cake

yummy yum..warm rich chocolate cake with ice cream makes the dinner ends perfectly..
although i'm not a big fan of brownies with ice cream, but this was really comforting..
love it once in a while

we ended up chit-chatting there for hours
and i would said thats my only proper reunion dinner for CNY..haha
it was a great night...
voila

Happy Chinese New Year

its the new year eve today and i'm here blogging
this is the first year i'm away from home during the Chinese New Year
staying at Penang, the community that takes this festive season as an importance do makes me miss home as you see them preparing for CNY
maybe if i was at community that don't celebrate, it won't feel that bad..haha
i just got the adrenalin rush to step on the plane and fly back but cannot..
but its still not that lonely la..coz i still listen to firecrackers and CNY music

what would i do if i'm at Klang today???

1. having reunion dinner (all my fav CNY food)
2. take ang pow (this year my parents save on the ang pau by just banking it to me..hihi)
3. drinking shandy (dunno why i make it a must to get a carton of this no matter i finish it or not)
4. going back to grandparent house for visits and more ang pow
5. eating Kuala Selangor prawn cracker (this year i eat Penang's wan)
6. still doing my last minute shopping
7. wear new pyjamas (its a must for me)

and one thing i'm pretty proud of this festive season (not really proud la)
imagine i haven't been shopping for a piece of cloth or shoes this season
totally unbelievable!!!!
there's no shopping spree at all but now i wish i had new clothes or even a new pair of sandals
how i wish!!!!!

but i know this is going to memorable wan
i would appreciate my next CNY more..I KNOW THAT FOR SURE!!!!

p/s: made all this card and its all given out..didn't post any out coz i got no stamps and material are so limited here..its not the work i'm really satisfy and i only manage to do 4 using all my materials..that's why it looks repetitive..anyway hope they like it!!!

Happy Chinese New Year to all...let the TIGER ROARSSSSSS....
Happy Valentine to all the lovebirds and all my loved ones

lastly

Happy Birthday to my dearest BRO, Mr. Andrew Lee (promise to replace the celebration once i'm back, hihi)

the innocence

Its was the the 1st birthday of this little girl

and i was there with Lulu to do some snap shot for her

we both agree how good is it to be children

the innocence of them

not knowing, not understanding what is going around them

living in their own world

with baby language that they only understand

everything was well prepared for them from day till night

showing emotions whenever they want

smile and cry whenever they want

its something I no longer could do

HOW GOOD IS IT TO BE A BABY

Happy Birthday Qistin

May your journey ahead be blessed and have FUN growing up.. :)
