its CHOCOLATE day

what a long working hour today
from 0700 to 2100
am i that tired physically and mentally??
i don't think so
some people said 'wah, why so stupid work so long'
some people said 'good lo, at least you learn something'
but don't know why, this two phrase doesn't seem comforting to me
anyway, i'm all day, i mean almost all day at the cold chocolate room
doing decoration stuffs and also
EASTER deco item for next week
making EASTER EGGS and BUNNY
all using chocolate
it seems to be easy but its not
i guess i'm a bit phobia to chocolate now
how many times i washed my hand due to the chocolate stains?? uncountable...haha
shall take the picture once i finished everything

sleepless night tonight

Bangkok Lane, Mee Goreng

it was my first time driving my housemate downtown and its as if i took the whole day
or more accurately my only passenger cum instructor till now
but good for the bravery and no complaint..haha
and due to the slow speed, my porky satay and charcoal bread finished
i'm going to try that next time earlier
so we settle down for the famous mee goreng along the heritage building at Bangkok Lane
and the Indian boss speaks good hokkien..cool..okla..is very common to hear races besides Chinese to speak fluent hokkien at Penang

mee goreng with lotsa condiments..spicy, sour, salty and absolutely YUMMY..
okay, this sounds heavy for breakfast but its actually our brunch ya..
i'm not a big fan of yellow noodles due to the alkaline taste but this totally has no such taste..
i love mine spicy and she loves hers non-spicy

i heart their Pasembur..or more commonly known as Indian rojak at Klang
again, i'm not a big fan of rojak but this is also YUMMY..i love the sourness and sweet that just compliment each other so well..and the extra fried prawn fritters are a MUST...

a good breakfast for the day...it starts our day with a big smile!!!!

*winks winks*

Haikara Style Cafe & Bakery

Having the intention to visit this cafe a.k.a bakery for quite some times since its opening..at last got the chance one fine Sunday when i'm back home..it was actually a Japanese style cafe ( Haikara eventually means 'high collar'..its run by a couple who hailed from Nagoya and its really a good place to hangout...

complimentary soup and salad for the order..the soup is a clear soup (obviously in the picture.aiks) which is good to start off served in a cutey small cup

we had the chicken katsu curry rice..generous amount of gravy flooding on the plate..even the katsu is covered by the gravy, u can still feel the crispiness of the chicken..upon order, they will ask the level of spiciness from 1 to 10, we chose 5 and its just nice..mild spiciness...i love the gravy that goes perfectly well with the rice..its simply comforting

yummylicious mentaiko pasta..every single strand of pasta is covered with creamy roe..i'm pretty sure they used the baby icon Japanese mayo in this cause i was once addicted to it..its so creamy and the fragrant of the cod roe but you don't feel its like too much until the last strand..and importantly its al-dente...

they have a few types of coffee here..we opt for the charcoal roast coffee at RM 7 per cup and RM 3 for the next consecutive cup..its a good deal right..the coffee has a real smoky taste to it and instead of creamer or fresh milk, they use concentrated creamy milk..don't waste a single drop coz its mini..i mean real MINI..but its enough for the cup of coffee..i heart this too..

decorative syphon pot..but i got a peak, they use those net like what we see at the chinese old kopitiam to strain their coffee..there were much more item to try but as we finished, we were full so we just packed our desserts and go...

the owner working seriously with his coffee..please do have patience when dining here as there were limited staffs working at the restaurant and especially when the restaurant is packed with customers..

the cafe also sell bakery stuffs which is 100% natural with no preservatives, additives or artificial colours..all sorts of bread and sweet items..i had their chestnut roll which was pretty good though..i think quite some number of my friends would love this place..and come early cause they seems to close pretty early

shall come back for more..

Julie & Julia

this movie has won many good criticism around the town
i wasn't aware what are the storyline until i find out the portrayal of Julia Child was in it
i first come in touch with the name 'Julia Child' was when i did my final year project regarding television food show and the my first part was all about Julia Child
now being able to see and understand more on how she rise as one of the best historical celebrity cook was an excitement to me
and for Meryl Steep to play her role, i think it was just a perfect match..she seems to play it really well like usual, she has been a fascinating actress and Amy Adams to play Julie was definitely good enough too

Julia gained her diploma at the Le Cordon Bleu school at Paris..i was smiling when i watched this part because i came across this school lately and their school at Australia has been one of the good option for me to continue my journey..
at the school, she was the only women and all the guys doesn't like him, but she was so passionate about what she was doing, so determine to continue what she desire, and at last found her true passion which is of course 'I enjoyed eating' that's what she said which lead to French culinary..
and of course Paul Child, her supportive husband which accompanied her throughout the way..never complained about the time Julia spent on her passion..

i don't know why, this movie somehow just reflect the life i'm having..quite some number of people i met lately was telling me that this is not the correct path for a girl, as time devoted was too much..you might lose your family and etc etc..and its difficult for a partner to totally understand the life a person working in kitchen..

but all this still doesn't makes me lose my way..I'm at the kitchen now.and i was HAPPY...INSPIRED..I'm not sure how many people beside me is supportive of me..but it doesn't matter..I'm more assured of my pathway..and i'm really happy for a friend of mine where we share the same passion..i'm not surprise one day she will nailed it and the thing I'm more happy for her is that she has someone there to back her up..totally giving in for her passion..as a friend, nothing more happy than that..like what Paul Child said " you are butter to my breath..breath to my life"

and for Julie Powell, i will really thanked her for writing this book..if not, there wouldn't be such a good movie..and it also prove that an individual not related to you might just change your life forever..to be a better person and make your world a better place to live..YOU JUST GOT TO BE DETERMINE!!!

this is definitely an awesome movie at least to me
hope one day I'll be inspired by the book 'Mastering the Art of French Cooking'
