fun to be home

its always good to be home
no matter how short the length is
i guess e will certainly agree with me
non stop of meeting up
spending with your love ones
nothing much about the food or environment
its all about the quality time spent

makan-makan with bro once i step back home
then met up with the girls at sherperdoo
its a hit place now in Klang town, but i still think the service is not good
chit chat chit chat, thats how time flies

and it was surprising that i get to met a friend i haven't seen for ages, Mr. Looi
haha..and of coz bah kut the would be my first choice
the first time i ate Pao Xiang at Centro
its not that bad, the broth is thick..and its kept warm with the pot coz its fully air-condition place
one thing was that they do not have fried crullers but u can always bring urs
dont mind paying a few more bucks now for environment
haha..

of coz after adjusting their time and able to squeeze me in in their tight schedule
get to go shopping with joyce..
although the meal wasn't so satisfying, but i still enjoyed it
and shopping with her means u wil see a shopping queen couldn't resist herself from buying..haha
next was certainly the family dinner at my current 'tai chao' place
doesn't matter how long i need to wait as long as i get my fav yong tau foo and tai lok min

the other person who manage to squeeze me in no matter what is my dear Carmen and the bf, KY..so sweet of them huh
and i found this little gem called the little ben at Kota Kemuning
it was spacious and the food was really not bad for places like that
wide range of food and their coffee was indeed pretty good
the only lesson, make sure u know how big is the portion before ordering so much food and that we barely finish..yummy yum..

missed out another 2 person i want to meet..
e e u shud know that u r one of it
aiks!!!!!

there will be another fun time home

Changing of Department

its only 36 days since i started off my internship
but i have already shift from one dept to another dept
some would say its good coz more exposure
some would say its not good coz haven't fully master everything in one department

lets see:

1st dept: Spice Market Cafe

my uniform really looks like Philippine maid??
this place is a buffet based restaurant..it is said that every trainee that step into Rasa Sayang will have to train here
it was the peak time when I was there, where the occupancy rate just shoot up
so, basically at there, you need to be PHYSICALLY ready
at the end of every shift, i'm like drop dead
this is also the place i knew some good and some 'not so good' people
good in the sense of friendly, and willingly to teach you, correct you when you do mistake
not so good people in the sense of lazy, taking advantage of people, 'useless and stupido' boastful, too arrogant...etc etc
its always easier to list out the weakness of people then the strength of people right
then after 15 days i was transferred to

2nd dept: Rasa Wing Lounge

fully red uniform that resemble cheongsam with songket printing
and i'm always curious that the slit is high up in the middle, aiks should have taken the pic on how high is the slit huh..
this lounge is exclusive for Rasa Wing guest, only they can enjoy the privileges there
here, u need to be PHYSICALLY and MENTALLY prepared during the HIGH occupancy
although the lounge is only busy during the hi-tea and cocktail
but I can assured you that you have never ending jobs till the end of shift..
people here are serious with their job especially communicating with the customers
seriously i really need better memory
this is also the place i get my appraisal from customer, not to deny, I'm happy, i should right
but its only until ytd i knew that Mrs Nxxxxxxx was the wife of the Shangri-la KL GM..thats a big WOW WOW to me..

3rd dept: Ferringhi Grill Fine Dining Restaurant

of course i have a new uniform, don't have the chance to take picture yet
it was only my first day ytd with a 1700-0100 shift
working through midnight reaching home at almost 2 am..
this place definitely MENTALLY prepared
and like what Kennilus told me on the first day i met him
THINK POSITIVELY here and you will SURVIVED
and i realizes GOOD MEMORY and FAST THINKER is also crucial here
coz they only tell you once and you are expected to do the task
they told me so much ytd i wonder how much can i remember
you feel the pressure even there are not much guest..aiks aiks aiks

till then

Athena, Pavillion

i think this would be the last on my food post before coming to Penang for internship
although there are few more, but i guess i'll just leave it aside..i'm a bit reluctant
Athena was right beside Michaelangelo at Pavillion
the first review i heard on this place was from Hui Yuan and it was pretty not bad

and we have this mocktail which i forgotten the name
it was sourish sweet and really refreshing

and my ice latte, usually i'll opt for the hot one for latte
but i was freaking hot that day, i need this to cool me down
and it works..its yummy..

our first course was Seafood De Mare
or in short, tomato seafood soup
this was totally a disappointment to me,
its like as though you are putting spoonful of tomato puree into your mouth
and its so sour which was cause by the lemon because we found lemon wedges
it kills of all the seafood flavor..not good..

La Paz Nachos Platter topped with beef gratin with Cumin Peri and Mozarella
if you don't like cumin, make sure you skip this
the cumin flavor was pretty strong
i like this and Nat was on the other way round
its basically a bed of greens topped with minced beef, cheese and olive and baked..not bad for a start..

Di Semola Greek Feta
its actually aglio olio topped with feta cheese
the spaghetti was cooked to al dente
and slight spiciness from the chillies flakes
and the olio itself was not salty so its good when you combine both feta and the spaghetti
not too oily..thumbs up for this

we sat there for hours chit chatting until the movie started

so basically it was a satisfying meal

Yellow Cab, Taipan USJ

sometimes people ask me, what kind of pizza you love best??
i would say: wood oven pizza
but how often you can find wood oven pizza without making some effort
so normal oven pizza is good enough, i won't reject
and yellow cab did a pretty good job on this

yellow cab had been launching a few franchise
don't their yellow delivery scooter look cute
you will never missed them if they are on the road

don't expect fancy cutleries
they only provide paper plates, plastic spoon and fork
but do expect good pizzas
because they really are

they come in 10'' 14'' and 18'' inch,
14'' would be good enough to be share among two people

the selection of the day
I wanted to try so many flavors, so i choose one that mixed all 4 flavors
its the Four Season Gourmet Sampler
New York classic: beef peperoni
4 cheese- mozzarella, cheddar, Romano & feta
anchovy lovers- black olives, anchovies, caper, roasted garlic, mushrooms and onions
roasted garlic & shrimp - shrimp, onion roasted garlic in butter sauce

i love the anchovy lovers the most
but others was equally good as well
and i always love it when my pizzas is loaded with mozzarella cheese just like this one

we ordered a side too, baked potato skin with bacon and sour cream
this is good when it is hot
but i would prefer they scoop out more of the potato fillings
the saltiness of the bacon and cheese was balance up with the sour cream
yummy yummy

but sadly enough,
i was suppose to take home the left over,
but i totally forgotten bout it and its on the table
wasted wasted

so if you happen to be at Subang area
just call for delivery then..its worth the wait

The Daily Grind

i don't really have a sweet tooth nowadays
but occasionally I still have craving
and this is the day i had the cravings
especially so many reviews had been done on it
you just got to taste it to tell it

a cup of piping hot cappuccino with slices of biscotti which i dropped on the floor
of course the kind young lady replace it with a few piece more for me
the cappuccino was nicely foamed
correct proportion of milk, coffee and foam make a perfect cup
this may not be perfect but good enough for a drizzling day

here comes the crave
the hummingbird cake
slices of pineapple on the frosting
nutty fruity cake, although it was on the sweet side
but accompany by the cappuccino, they are perfect pairing

this was my favorite of the day
the red velvet..
first glance, its going to be extreme sweet with those frosting
but i was of course wrong
its dense, not over sweet and huge slice of cake
this was one hell of a good cake i have for a long long time

i heart this so much
the next time, its for BURGER!!!!

love

Gelateria, Kota Kemuning

i promise myself no matter what i got to blog about this place
no valid reason for that intention
Gelateria was managed by a couple
and i mean fully run by the husband and wife
they are the waiter cum owner cum cook cum gelato maker

so this means you got to wait
and i really mean that you got to wait for your food
they insist on making their food from scratch only when the customer arrives
so make sure you have some time or bring ur lappy here
what is good bout this place is they made their gelato all by themselves
lotsa flavor, from vanilla to mango to double choco or even Ferraro

the complimentary brushetta
and they will serve every customer with a cup of 'pandan' drink
and no refill or it will be charged

after 20 minutes, the arrival of the roast chicken set
RM 17.90 was a steal as the portion was pretty big
but the taste that matters right??
the chicken was well marinated as the flavor fully absorbed into the chicken
and the german potato was nice too
but the coleslaw, you can skip that

next was the fish, i don't really remember what is the fish
how does it fare, erm no wow wow effect for sure
the sauce was so watery and i can't really determine the flavor of the sauce
and they prepare this really really long..aiks

next time my visit here is only for the gelato
this was the one that comes with any a la carte order
the gelato was creamy and not too sweet for my liking
i don't really fancy chocolate ice-cream but this was acceptable for me

of course we tried out their spaghetti ice-cream
they do have their pizza and lasagna ice-cream
it really looks like some kind of noodle right
actually its the same gelato where they just piped it out at the correct temperature so that they don't melt while piping drizzle with the strawberry sauce
once again, i fell for the gelato..

and only the gelato
