my last trip with my coursemates
plan plan plan..it do work out at last
and this time, we depart with only one MPV
of course the driver, Ms Boo..thanks especially to your GPS
1st stop: Bidor Duck Noodle
i remember having this everytime i pass by Perak during chilhood time
the yam pastry 'wu kok'
is it good..not really
not crisp enough and the yam not that smooth
the feeling also so so only..
they still have the duck drumstick with the herbal broth
the herbal flavor is not that strong
still not bad for a start..
they have the soup and the dried version..the dried version soup is more flavorful..
next stop, we head down to Chan's hometown, Teluk Intan
my Perak travel mates
from left: Mr. Chan Wei Leong, lee ming, fs, yong, and of course my aunty, Dr. Boo
2 are missing..sobs sobs..
oh ya ms oh is the photographer..
the Menara Condong in Teluk Intan
you can't really see the 'kecondongan' unless you look at it from far
standing in the middle of the city
just a menara with 8 floors but you only climb 2 times of stairs and you reached the peak
i still can't figure out why, i guess its the good architecture
the so called Teluk Intan Hong Wan Lou signature wantan mee
it was opened by Chan's family
every single stall is family related
his dad made their own noodle..using the bamboo stick..cool huh..
his mummy was really cute..very hillarious..oh ya, my travel mate said their white coffee is good though
i really need something cooling
the weather was freaking HOT HOT HOT..
so it ICe time again
above that is mine..the jelly thing was like 'ai yu ping' where u get at pasar malam
and the limau kasturi is pickled with brine..really really salty so discard the peel of the limau
then mix everything together
its really refreshing for the day..COOLING!!!!
the watermelon dessert and the honey dew dessert
be careful while eating cause they found metal wire in it
not one but two
i don't think it taste as good as mine cause they say the coconut milk flavor was too thick
after Teluk Intan we head down to Taiping
for the curry chicken bread..lee gang favourite
ahh..the famous roti with curry chicken
you can either choose a whole chicken or half
curry chicken flavor or the herbal chicken
two thumbs up for this
the bread to soak up the sauce of the curry chicken
really taste good
i still know its good though im already pretty blur that time...haha
then we went to have the peanut dessert and mua chi..i think only the locals know this place
but the peanut 'hu' finish dy
left the mua chi..homemade muachi..small packet cost RM 1.70
but i do hope its a bigger bite even it tasted so yummy!!!!
cam whoring while waiting for the rest to finish their hotel room 'meeting'
next stop for dinner is the Onn Kee Hor Fun
people nowadays said this stall is better then the Lou Wong coz the rival shop is meant for tourist
we just believes what the local said
but i am disappointed with the results though
the fatty taugeh to go with the hor fun and steamed chicken
i tasted a mouth of Hui Yuan oily rice
and it didn't taste that nice as well
the famous chicken of Ipoh
i know a lot of ppl won't agree with me especially the Ipoh people
but this is really not that good too me or i'm unlucky that day
the meat was so tough..its not smooth
i don't really fancy it..
the mixed chicken innards
whats the yellowish thing again huh??
i just remember it tasted not bad though..
the next stop was the dessert street @ tong sui kai
actually its not really the whole street la
just a few stalls, its basically a whole row of hawker stall
almost each of us got our own dessert
and the funniest of all was the bubur chacha top with shaved ice
thats really funny but of course half of the bowl left untouched
this was mine.鸡蛋武夷茶.
erm..too sweet for my liking though
but the egg is good enough of me at the raining weather
the mix fruit ice shaved..
from the pic itself, basically ice-cream, mix fruits, ice..
then it was KTV moment
it was pouring heavily that night
and miao and her brother joined us for the ktv
all kinds of song are sang
but almost half of the group were half dead
after ktv, its supper time
of coz ICE BEER time at Sun Yun Wah Cafe
ice beer is basically where the beer and glass are really chilled
till its freezing cold and the way you poured into the glass
where the whole glass is frothy beer
drink before the froth disappear, you will feel really cooling
but after that, its basically normal beer la
deep fried butter prawn mantis (RM17)
this is good though..
crispy and good to go with the cooling beer
spicy stir fried bali tong (RM17)
this is my easiest experience in consuming balitong
i think is because they cut the end of the shell deep enough
so its really easy to suck it out
yummy too
thats the last meal on the first day
more to come
