its just for the name of PASSION

i met with a local few days back
i was just asking for direction when having my lunch and we had a small talk
what a coincidence that he was a hotelier since 1970s till he retired
he started of at Rasa Sayang Shangri-La in the 70s and move from one hotel to one hotel gaining higher post from time to time
what i admired most was the passion he had when he was talking about his journey
his faith on the work that he is doing
till date after he retired he is still very willing to get back in the line as long as they allow
working in hotel is just as not as easy as it seems to be
sacrifice of long working hours
sacrifice of spending time with your love ones
having commitment towards your job
pays that will flip flop throughout the months
and you might just ended up working not seeing the sun and finish work seeing the moon
and for someone like him to still love the job after so many years was awesome
having family that understand was more awesome
and it was inspiring to me
i don't actually know the exact path i'm heading to now
but i do hope i have what he had
that will bring me to the next level

where i had my coffee and spend time with my lappy

Q of the day: is it worth caring for ppl that don't really care @ do you care for ppl that couldn't care less about you??

Coffee Lane, Penang

if I'm finding for coffee here, i'll just basically dropped by Starbucks and have my shots and to surf the net there
Today was purely just to find a cup of good coffee to kick start the day
since they have one in town, we just hoped by
and i succeeded in finding the way..YES!! (clap, clap encouragement man)

Yes, coffee is freshly grounded, brewed and enjoyed but as i step in the place
you don't smell strong aroma of coffee which we hoped for
but the ambiance of the place was pleasing though
the place was just a small coffee place with limited seats designed with traditional furniture
with a feeling of the heritage trail

I had the brew dripped coffee..it just resembles those drip coffee i had in Pho Hoa but eliminating the condensed milk
i'm certainly not a coffee expert but i still can say the syphon coffee we had later on taste better
it doesn't taste so sharp here and a hint of sourness that stay at your tongue..but its still a good cuppa of coffee

next, we have our syphon coffee, you get to see the way of preparing the coffee..and since we were not given a full description on the process, not much of elaboration here then
but one thing for the coffee
it had an aftertaste at your tongue which is very aromatic
and you can feel the full bodied of the coffee until it almost reaches the throat
but its very smooth, its not those coffee where you just taste bitterness

they do have other delicacies to accompany the coffee

big almond cookies..its always hard to resist big cookies in the glass jar huh

triple decker sandwich..big enough to take it as a brunch for my crime partner

my herbal chicken mee sua
i didn't carry high hope for this
but surprising enough its good..its comforting but it would be better if the herbal taste is slightly stronger
and i don't have chinese restaurant syndrome after i finished their soup..^^

the so called must try
ti a kui..a local delicacies..soft ghewy texture with slight saltiness with drizzling of thick gula Melaka
this is my first time having it sweet, coz back at my place its purely white and eaten with pork leg vinegar sauce or braised sea cucumber with pork....
my crime partner said, there are better ones
but i enjoyed it

i really hope i could skip work that day and have another cup

i love my coffee, i love my breakfast

Blue Reef

this is the place i will packed my olio at the very last minute when they are about to close
never actually sat down and dine until the other day
even the staff there joke 'eh, you are early today?' haha
back to the food
they are having set lunch, with any main course ordered, add only RM 1 to get soup of the day and also a glass of ice lemon tea..
so we opt for the set lunch

the soup of the day: leek and potato soup
its not to be say over creamy, pretty good consistency and the taste of leek was pretty strong..this will be real comfort food during the rainy days (but its been freaking HOT lately)..it comes with a slice of homemade garlic bread..nothing to shout about there

chloe main course: grilled garoupa with smashed dill potatoes and long beans..accompanied with grain mustard sauce if i'm not mistaken..i first ate this when my housemate tapao for me and i finish everything all by myself..the fish was done properly and the accompanied sauce and potatoes were pretty addictive..

this is mine: pan-seared salmon with marinated couscous and tomato confit ..i seldom eat grilled or cooked salmon at restaurant coz they tend to be disappointing as its always overcooked..when this arrived, it seems that way too..as it looks a bit tad dry, but it was still coral pink inside and flaky too..and i always love my salmon skin crisp..its all there for me..and the couscous was yummy yummy...very flavorful..i do hope its a bigger portion of couscous..hihi

fishball maincourse: fish n chips (beer battered)..fish used was the catch of the day, a local fish where i barely remember its name..i had pretty high hope on this..the fish inside was still nice..slightly i mean slightly dry but with a dash of malt vinegar..its still yummy yum..the beer battered was ermmmm...its crispy but not light enough as normal beer battered..compared to magnificent fish, i would prefer magnificent fish..oops

another thing i would like to mention, when you step into the restaurant you will see their wall are full with drawings drawn by their customers especially kids..they said it is to distract the children from running around the shop..its good huh..and its better when they really actually hang it up..oh did mention the staffs there are very informational and very friendly..

let see some of the drawings painted by their guest who is also a cartoonist hailed all the way from Japan..i heart those below:

aren't they adorable?? simple but lovely...

my crime partners for the day

my crime partner as usual

we have our painting too...nice nice?? i wonder will they stick this up..let see for myself on the next visit...

it was a freaking hot afternoon the other day but it was one good meal after a long time..but still finding the one that comfort me..GOSH GOSH...^^btw, i love their olio..really do..the staff knew it too..

Mom's kitchen

Just a simple night out finding for food on a rainy night
stop by this restaurant just to try out their Thai food since they claimed that the chef origin from Thailand itself

i like the cover of the menu..very simple but nice though

started off with the somtam..spicy sourish and sweet..pretty balancing in all flavors..my crime partner of the day find it over spicy..but its alright for me and with bites of peanut for that extra aroma..

belacan fried rice..nothing to shout about..one things about it was that the portion was pretty big..enough to feed for 2 though..

Phad Thai..haven had this for quite some time and i don't find Malaysian pad thai delicious enough..this time, its too oily and wet at the same time..and its SALTY!!!!only loaded with fried beancurd, bean sprouts and carrots..thumbs down for this...

Green Curry chicken..one simple word to describe it..OVER SALTY!!!!!its like you are putting a teaspoon full of salt on your toungue..the aroma for the green curry wasn't there..and chicken was a bit tough..one interesting thing is that they put winter melon..i guess its for extra points and the natural sweetness of the melon..but the saltiness of it kill this dish..aiksssss

i'm not so sure will i revisit this place again..

total damage inclusive of 2 glass of drink: RM 40.30

goodnight

sinny artsy for HY

never did this before
just try my luck and torturing my brain to do this..haha
of course its not as good as those experience scrapper
ill just follow the Nike theme
'JUST DO IT'

the cover of the album
i did distressing on the paper so it have the classic effect
and stamp with color that is near to the cover page
usually i'm not those that loves lotsa ribbon
but i do not want the metal ring to grab the attention
so used a few kinds of ribbon (felt, silk, strings) to accessorize it

using distressed patterned paper
dot adhesive instead of normal glue to preserve the pic and preventing bubbling of the paper on the Brazil stock paper
grained ribbon to add texture instead of looking flat

part of the album which i heart most

she loves it

i loves it

and due to this

i love my bed more if you get what i mean

hihi

hugs n kisses

The Blind Side

came across this movie when the nominees of the Oscars for Best Leading Actress came out
and yes of course Sandra Bullock won the Best Leading Actress Award
this movie was based on a true story
its not an inspiring movie
but its a movie that will melts someone hearts
at least it melts mine
its not the kind of movie that used touchy dialogue
or sobbing all the time
but it just touched me
the family bonds and the willingness of a total stranger to help a person out of no where
until he succeeded to become what he is today

watch it!!!

see what i meant helping out till he become a true success??!!
